The image above is called “The eye, like a strange balloon, mounts toward Infinity.” It’s a lithograph dating from 1882, by the French artist Odilon Redon, and was used to illustrate the first translation by Charles baudelaire of Edgar Allan Poe’s poetry. I was drawn to its surrealism, and the Gothic context made it the perfect choice for my home-page. The image wasourced from the Public Domain Image Archive / Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and you can read more about it on the Public Domain Review, here. I’m a big fan of the Public Domain Review, so you can expect many more re-directs on this website…
